Project Overview

Kinect Darts is an interactive promotional app developed for a medical exhibition. Designed to reduce patient anxiety and explain a new treatment approach, the application uses 3D visuals in Unity and body tracking with Kinect v2 to turn education into engaging gameplay.

Solution

Visitors step in front of the Kinect sensor and throw virtual syringes at a stylized target. Each section of the target displays symbolic numbers: 4 – representing four essential visits, 12 – twelve months of treatment, 24 – 24-hour observation, 365 – full-year care.

Players aim to hit these zones and score as many points as possible, reinforcing the treatment message in a fun, memorable way. The visuals and interactions are carefully designed to be welcoming and intuitive, turning a clinical topic into a stress-free experience.

Impact

The installation effectively drew attention at the expo. Attendees responded positively to the gamified concept, helping increase foot traffic and spark conversations about the treatment. The game broke down medical hesitation through play and served as a powerful entry point for engagement.
