Overview
This VR project simulates an interactive elevator cabin where users can customize the interior design in real time. Built as a visualization tool, it allows architects, designers, and clients to explore different finishing options and see how materials, lighting, and controls transform the space.
Solution
Inside the virtual cabin, users can:
- Change wall and floor colors and materials
- Customize the control panel design
- Adjust lighting types, which dynamically affect the cabinβs atmosphere
The experience was created to support design presentations, material and lighting demonstrations, and customer-facing visualizations of future elevator interiors. By enabling real-time modifications, the tool streamlines decision-making and provides an engaging way to preview design concepts.
Technical Details
Engine: Unity
Platform: Meta Quest 2, 3
Tools: Meta XR SDK, Amplify Shader Editor, Blender
Features: Real-time material editing, dynamic lighting, interactive UI
Outcome
The project demonstrates how VR can effectively showcase interior design options, offering clients a clear and immersive preview of their elevator cabins before production. It highlights the potential of virtual prototyping as both a presentation and decision-support tool.
