VR video Yurashi Filter

For Yurashi, we created a film in VR 360 format. Our task was to design the graphics for the part of the video showcasing how the filter works.

According to the director’s concept, the camera smoothly moves inside the filter, revealing how its structure attracts particles and cleans the air from dust.

Key Challenges

This project was full of research and technical challenges, which gave us valuable new experience.

Filter Structure Detailing
At first, the viewer sees the filter from a distance. Then the camera gradually dives inside, revealing the fine weaving of its elements and the back structure. We achieved the required level of detail at all stages of the camera movement.

VR 360 Format
In VR, classic scene optimization techniques cannot be applied, since the viewer can look around at 360°. This meant that every part of the scene had to be equally detailed, which made the task much more complex.

8K Resolution
To ensure maximum quality in VR headsets, the video had to be rendered in 8K. This required handling a massive amount of data and meeting high-performance demands.

Technical Implementation

For this project, we used the Houdini + Unreal Engine workflow, which allowed us to:

build a procedural filter structure with the necessary level of detail,

achieve smooth camera movement,

optimize the scene for 8K VR rendering.
